Zion Church is hosting the quarterly meeting of the Platte Valley Presbytery on Saturday May 3rd. Several of the classrooms will be used for Presbytery business, in addition to the coffee house for the large-group meeting, so plan any of your Saturday activities at the church accordingly.

Just a reminder that all are invited to a benefit concert this Friday at 7pm in the Zion Coffee House. All proceeds/donations will go to support Abby Wismer’s mission work in Kenya. Abby attends Grace Chapel and is a friend to many at Zion. Brittany Bydalek and Karen Choi will be performing our music and Abby will give a brief description of what she will be doing in Kenya. There is no cover charge at the door, but coffee and baked items will be for sale at suggested donation prices.

Friends,
Next Sunday, April 27, 5pm at Zion Church, Redeemer will be holding its first Exploratory Worship Service.
Our Exploratory Worship Services will allow us to
1/ explore the type of worship service we will have each week (we are planning on officially beginning weekly worship in mid to late-June), and
2/ allow folks from outside the launch team to be introduced to Redeemer and worship with us.
We want to invite you and ask you to join us this Sunday to worship!
Our plan is to hold three or four Exploratory Worship Services, at least two in May and one in June, before our official launch date. I will pass on the dates to you in the near future, but this Sunday will be the first one.
So, Sunday, April 27, 5pm, Zion Church.
Please plan on joining us!

John Friesen is coordinating a benefit concert for the piano and organ fund for Zion’s new building. The concert will include a brass ensemble, vocalists Talea Schroeder and Jeff Keele, and organists Pam Penner and John Friesen. One of the organ pieces is a instrumental demonstration and telling of the story of Daniel in the Lion’s Den with Keith Ghormley narrating.
Saint Paul United Methodist Church has opened their sanctuary for this event, which is being underwritten by Ad Lib, a Christian artists organization headed by Richard Terrell, art professor at Doane College, so admission is free. Contributions will be solicited for the piano and organ fund for Zion Church.

So plan to come for hamburgers, brats, hayrack rides, live music, etc. Please bring a friend and plate of cookies or bars to share.
Hope to see everyone there!

Fall Fest this Sunday, October 7th at the Kerns’ acreage from 4:00 to 8:00. In the event of rain, we will postpone for one week until October 14th. Parking this year will be more difficult, since the nearby field we have used for parking in previous years has not been havested. So if you can, share a ride with someone to reduce the number of cars.
