Zion hosts weekly Awana clubs for children ages 3 through 5th grade during the school year. Awana is a national, non-denominational program for children that combines Bible memorization and fun.
At Zion, we offer:
-
Cubbies, for ages 3 and 4
Sparks, for 5/K through 2nd grade, and
T&T, for grades 3, 4, and 5.
Zion’s implementation of Awana is slightly different than you might have experienced at other churches. Instead of the flag ceremony in the opening large group, we do a “Bible-Bread-Lamp-Sword” routine:
Leader: He who has ears to hear …
Clubbers: Let him Hear!
Leader: Faith comes by hearing…
Clubbers: And hearing by the word of God
Leader: God has spoken to us by his Son.
Clubbers He who has ears to hear, let him hear!
Leader: From childhood you have known the scriptures…
Clubbers: Which make you wise to salvation through faith in Christ Jesus
Leader: Jesus said,
Clubbers: “I am the way, the truth and the life”
Leader: Man shall not live by bread alone
Clubbers But by every word that comes from God’s mouth
Leader: Jesus said,
Clubbers: “I am the bread of life.”
Leader: God’s word…
Clubbers Is a light to my feet and a lamp to my path
Leader: Jesus said,
Clubbers: “I am the light of the world”
Leader: God’s word…
Clubbers Is sharper than any two-edged sword
Leader: When Jesus comes…
Clubbers He will slay his enemies with the sword of his mouth
Leader He who has ears to hear,
Clubbers Let him hear!
