The goal of Children’s Ministry at Zion is to build relationships between Zion members and children for expressing love, belonging, and care, and for modeling and teaching faith in and obedience to the Lord Jesus Christ.
Kids at Zion are involved in weekly Sunday School, the Wednesday AWANA program, and the annual VBS week. There is also a Children’s reading program with Zion’s library, a Christmas musical, and free gumballs in Pastor Keith’s office.

Baptism and the Lord’s Supper for Children: At Zion, we baptize the infant children of members because the Bible teaches that God counts such children as His in Christ. A baptized child who is ready to take the Lord’s Supper needs an interview with a couple of the church’s elders in order to articulate an age-appropriate understanding of the gospel and personal faith in Jesus. In order to prepare a child for this interview, parents can speak often with the child about the main points of the gospel: God’s holiness and justice, our sinfulness and guilt, Christ’s sacrifice on the cross, and our personal faith.

Parents with young children have the option in the second service of sending their children to Children’s Church just before the Sermon. Children ages 3, 4, & 5 who do not stay with their parents may be dismissed with Pastor Keith for songs and a Bible story (featuring Brown Cat and White Cat). The children rejoin their parents in the main worship hall after Communion during the last hymn.
