Men-U

August 29, 2009
8:15 amto9:30 am

Our monthly Men-U event features a hearty breakfast and, as always, a topic that calls us to be faithful, obedient men as we face the challenges of the world we live in.

Our guest will be Dave Huffman, Howard and Wendy’s son. Dave is a 2nd Lieutenant in the US Army, and he recently completed a year-long graduate studies fellowship at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. During his fellowship he met with representatives of the Israeli Defense Forces, studied Arabic, Hebrew, Israeli society, and Counter-terrorism. He organized a volunteer program teaching English to Sudanese refugees, and somehow found the time to bike the length of the country. His prior experiences include an internship in Washington, D.C. with the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, studying Arabic in Beirut and Amman, and a year as a medic in Baghdad and Samarra, Iraq. Dave will give a brief presentation about his time in the Middle East, and will then take questions for the balance of our time.
